  • 6. The values need to be as follows:

Name: @

Priority: 1

You obviously need to change the text above yourdomain.com to your actual domain name.

adding a new mx record on ShopifyExample:

If your domain is boxshop.com you would add:

Name: @

Points to: mx.boxshop.com.cust.hostedemail.com

Priority: 1

Once you’re sure it’s correct then please click confirm to save.

Please ensure you delete any other mx records that exist.  You should only have one MX record set.  Any more and mail will likely fail. The MX record defines where mail is sent so it needs to be correct.

After you have set your MX record you then need to set a TXT record. This ensures gmail and some other accounts still receive your messages.

Add a TXT record

Name: @
Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.hostedemail.com ~all
TTL: choose lowest value

If you’ve registered your domain with a 3rd party (not Shopify) then please see your domain registrar’s instructions on how to edit your MX record.

The values need to be set as follows:

Record type: MX

Name / Record: @

Points to (sometimes called Content or server address ):  mx.yourdomain.com.cust.hostedemail.com

You obviously need to change the text above yourdomain.com to your actual domain name.

Example:

If your domain is boxshop.com you would add:

Once you’re sure it’s correct please save your DNS records.

After you have set your MX record you then need to set a TXT record. This ensures gmail and some other accounts still receive your messages.

Add a TXT record

Value: v=spf1 include:_spf.hostedemail.com ~all
TTL: choose lowest value

Then save the TXT record.

What happens next?

If you have changed your DNS records then you must wait for an email from us with your email login details.

Unfortunately DNS changes can take upto 72 hours to take effect. So you do need to wait and there's nothing we can do to speed this process up.

Don't worry - you'll get an email within 1-2 days with full details of how to use your email. Sometimes it will be within a few hours.

How can I check my mail?

Please see the email we sent you with your login details. It will arrive between 1 and 2 days after signup and often within a couple of hours.

Note that your billing account login details are different from your email login details. This is because one billing account may have many email accounts.

In short: mail is checked here: https://mail.shopped.email using your email login details we send you by email (not your billing account login details).

I don't understand what to do. Please help.

Please open a ticket - and one of our team will get back to you.

If you want us to change your DNS records then please include your full login details for your domain. If you registered your domain with Shopify then you can send staff access to help@shopped.email and we will do it for you.
